Me neither. Then I came across this. Sandra Fraser, a Jamican immigrant who had served four years as an officer in the Jamaican police force, stabbed 78-year-old Pastor Edson Ennis 13 times in an argument over non-payment of rent.
In order to accomplish this, Fraser pinned Ennis to the ground and ordered her 16-year-old daughter to pass her a knife. She then enlisted her daughter's help to wrap the Pastor's body up and get it into a van. It was found wrapped in a tablecloth, bound up with parcel tape and burning in the car park of the Black Patch Community Lane in Foundry Lane, Smethwick, on 4 September 2004.
At Birmingham Crown Court, Judge John Saunders QC said:
"You have shown not one iota of remorse for what you did or compassion for the Ennis family who are the victims of this terrible crime. During this trial you have shown yourself not only to be capable of great violence but to be a devious and manipulative woman."The judge added that Fraser had 'cultivated' a friendship with Edson, hoping to steal from him. He also said she had had stolen Mr Ennis's pension and had previously defrauded another man.
Fraser was found guilty of murder in September 2005. Her daughter was found guilty of no more than perverting the course of justice and sentenced to community service only.
