“The question was put to me with stark simplicity. ‘What was it all for?’ asked the elderly lady, a wistful look in her eyes. ‘THE COUNTRY THAT THEY DIED FOR HAS GONE,’ she continued, glancing down at the red poppy on her lapel. Thus does the best that British journalism has to offer dare to tell tales on the brute establishment.
I had fallen into conversation with her on the steps of the Imperial War Museum in London… She explained that she had lost close relatives in both World Wars and as a teenager had endured the horrors of the Blitz. Mixed with her admiration for family heroes who had lost their lives in conflict, SHE ALSO FELT UTTER DESPAIR AT THE STATE OF BRITAIN AND A PROFOUND SENSE OF BETRAYAL.
Although her loved ones had given so much for their country, SHE NOW FELT LIKE AN ALIEN IN HER OWN LAND, LIVING IN CONSTANT FEAR OF CRIME AND SURROUNDED BY FOREIGNERS WITH WHOM SHE HAD NO SENSE OF MUTUAL BELONGING OR TRUST.
Her insistent question – ‘What was it all for?’ – has also been echoing through my mind as I research a book about Bomber Command during the Second World War. It mounted perhaps the most bloody and dangerous British offensive of the conflict, as crews of the heavy bombers flew night after night over Germany through vicious flak from the ground and from Luftwaffe fighters. Long-term chances of survival were minimal. More than half of all men who served in air crews were killed in action. The courage required to step into those aircraft for the long journey in blackened night skies over enemy territory is almost beyond imagination.
Yet thousands of young Britons volunteered for this hellish role, motivated by their deep love of country and an abiding sense of a higher duty to others. They died for their nation but THAT NATION BARELY EXISTS ANY MORE. IT HAS BEEN DESTROYED BY THE POLITICIANS, its sovereignty handed over to AN UNELECTED CONTINENTAL BUREAUCRACY, ITS ECONOMY SOLD OFF TO FOREIGN INTERESTS, ITS HERITAGE TRADUCED OR IGNORED, ITS CITIES TURNED INTO MODERN BABELS FULL OF DISCORDANT TONGUES AND WAILING MOSQUES.
In this Remembrance Week we hear our political leaders mouthing platitudes about the debt we owe to the fallen. They ostentatiously parade their poppies and bow their heads in silence at the appropriate moments but ALL THEIR WORDS AND GESTURES ARE HOLLOW.
Behind the week’s front of piety THEY HAVE SHOWN CONTEMPT FOR BRITISH NATIONHOOD, CRUSHING IT WITH THEIR RUTHLESS OBEDIENCE TO THE IDEOLOGIES OF DIVERSITY, GLOBALISATION AND EUROPEAN INTEGRATION…PATRIOTISM IS NOW A DIRTY WORD IN TOO MANY OF OUR CIVIC INSTITUTIONS, WHERE THE UNION FLAG IS SEEN AS AN OFFENSIVE SYMBOL OF XENOPHOBIA AND THE NATIONAL ANTHEM IS HOPELESSLY UNCOOL.
There was a classic example of this fashionable disdain for national glory on BBC TV at the weekend when reporter Robert Hall, introducing some archive footage from 1918, said crowds in London could be seen ‘celebrating the peace agreement’. No they weren’t. They were celebrating British victory and the surrender of Germany. But such terms as ‘British victory’ and ‘German surrender’ are despised within THE POLITICALLY CORRECT BBC so, WITHOUT ANY REGARD FOR THE HISTORICAL TRUTH, the triumph of 1918 had to be presented as some kind of negotiated compromise.
IT IS PRECISELY BECAUSE THE POLITICAL ELITE HAS LOST ALL GRASP OF BRITISH PATRIOTISM THAT OUR NATION IS NOW SO FRAGMENTED AND PURPOSELESS, A PLACE WITHOUT A SOUL, OUR ONCE GREEN AND PLEASANT LAND SWALLOWED UP BY MASS DEVELOPMENT, OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM LEFT IN TATTERS BY THE IMPORTED HUMAN-RIGHTS CULTURE. The very idea of British citizenship has been rendered meaningless by THE TWIN MALIGN FORCES OF THE EU AND MASS IMMIGRATION.
On Saturday, this paper reported the case of rapist Abdullah Al Jaber, a Bangladeshi who had already served six years in the US for a sex crime but was allowed to settle in Britain because he was married to a Pole. ONLY IN THE MADHOUSE OF OUR DISSOLUTE COUNTRY WOULD MARRIAGE TO A POLE PROVIDE ENTITLEMENT TO BRITISH RESIDENCY’.”
Leo McKinstry risks all by saying things as they really are. There is no internet anonymity for him. For a British journalist to put his career on the line in quite such a courageous way is almost unheard of in recent times. He doesn’t just hint at the truth, he comes right out and tells it as it is, warts and all. His contempt for the politician is palpable.
Here are some of the comments listed under his article:
Marigold: “How poignant are the words ‘What was it all for?’ Schools do not always teach history. They teach what ‘they’ think our children ought to know and what our children should ignore or make retribution for. Britain is no longer a country to be proud of. Yet we produced some of the best inventors, innovators, and explorers that the world has known. We built an infra structure that the world looked to and imitated. We fought off invaders and conquered the world. We stood up to fascism, opposed communism and built a democracy second to none.
But where is the democracy now? The racist card is played at every opportunity Patriotism is frowned upon.
What was it all for”?
Aircanukgal: “When I read and see all that has befallen the once proud and patriotic nations of the UK, I believe that it has dropped so far down the pit through sheer incompetence, sheer betrayal of the identity of the UK by a bunch of Marxist commie b***ards… that Britain would have actually been a better land today if it were being run by the Gerries! They would not put up with all this PC bullshit and would never allow foreigners to become more important than their own people. They have respect for their own customs language and history that, because of the Labour Government, has disappeared forever in the UK
This government has singlehandedly destroyed all that was worthwhile about being a BRIT. I am constantly amazed and shocked when on visits to the UK as to how despicable it has become and how muzzled the local people have become. They are scared to say anything and have been reduced to third class status in their own lands.
The war heroes are better off dead than to live a life of modern 21st century slavery as drones to pay for the social programs to benefit the dregs of the 3rd world that now inhabit it.”
DQuinn25:“The reason it has become such a dirty word is because the liberal left idiots in this country have changed the definition of patriotic to mean racist. It is an absolute farce that the country has allowed itself to get into this state, the war dead must be turning in their graves cursing the day they fought for this toilet.
Well done Leo Mckinstry on writing another great article, its high time that you were a panellist on Question Time to address some home truths to the lefty selected audience that the BBC no doubt put there to further brainwash a huge portion of the idiots at home watching.”
Wiggins: “You are right Leo. Unfortunately we have now become a land fit for ZERO’S.”A land fit for zeros suits the animals at the top of the tree. A land fit for heros does not. That’s why THEY did what THEY did. That’s why THEY are still doing it. That’s why we are as we are now.
What was it all for? For THEM it was all about the destruction of the Northern European man and his way of being. It suits them for us to be dumbed-down, drugged up, decadent and brainwashed. There is far less fight in a teletubby than there was in the 'young Britons' who once 'volunteered for hellish roles.'
Most of us know we are being betrayed but we pretend not to notice. Thus, we don’t just allow the politicians and the PC Crowd to betray us, we, actually, encourage them. Our ancestors were heros. Their descendants are zeros.
Those British Nationalists, of course, who were daring to tell it straight out when Leo was still wearing his politically correct short trousers, well, they have known 'what is was all for for' a very long time.
Zero is a term that cannot be applied to them. Their ancestors would be proud of those who refused to give in to Aircanukgal’s 'Marxist commie b***ards' when so many others did.
The Daily Mail.
“The morale that had seen men through the horrors of the trenches now seemed to seep away in a post-war malaise. IT SOON BECAME APPARENT THAT THE PROSPECTS WERE NOT GOOD FOR THOSE RETURNING FROM THE WAR. THERE WOULD PROVE TO BE LITTLE HELP FOR THEM IN TERMS OF HOUSING, PENSIONS AND WELFARE, DESPITE POLITICIANS’ PROMISES OF A ‘LAND FIT FOR HEROES’.I guess the 'certain class of officer wearing decorations' type back then would equate to the Blair, Brown, Mandelson and Miliband type of today.
The maimed particularly struggled. Pte Christopher Massie, a medic in the war who later found work in a military hospital, remembered a patient who had just come out from the operating theatre. ‘He asked me to ease his right arm. I turned down the blankets, to find that it had been amputated… The poor fellow’s jaw dropped. ‘They should not have done that,’ he said. ‘I could move my fingers and with them I could have got a job. Now I shall never work again. I suppose they will give me a sum of money and, after that is gone, I shall have to beg or starve’.
The man’s bitterness upset Massie… HE NOTED THAT SOLDIERS, GENERALLY, HAD NOTHING BUT CONTEMPT AND SUSPICION FOR THE LEADERS OF THE NATION FOR WHICH THEY HAD FOUGHT SO HARD…
Most men got just two medals, small return for such great sacrifice. And men who spent the war behind the lines were entitled to the same awards as those who had faced years under fire in the trenches… The award of gallantry medals was also controversial. Fewer than 200,000 were awarded, about one per 25 servicemen. MOST RECEIVED NOTHING, THEIR REMARKABLE COURAGE OVERLOOKED…
Lt Col George Stevens, commanding officer of the 2nd Royal Fusiliers, had: ‘Many fine fellows, runners, scouts, stretcher-bearers, patrol leaders, whom I recommended for honours but were turned down because they ‘only did their duty’. AND YET ONE SEES A CERTAIN CLASS OF OFFICER WEARING DECORATIONS FOR BRAVERY WHO ONE KNOWS NEVER WENT WITHIN MILES OF THE ENEMY’.”
McKinstry’s article doesn’t attempt to address much more than the politician’s role in the eradication of the patriotism and love of one’s country we all once felt. It is, nevertheless, extremely heartening to see a mainstream journalist flexing his hatred of OUR ENEMIES in quite such stark terms.
'Our enemies' are also, of course, the enemies of the young men and women fighting and dying in Iraq and Afghanistan as we speak. These just happen to be putting their lives on the line with similar futility to that of the WWI combatants.
The Leo McKinstries, I think, help bring the treason trials of the Blairs, the Browns, the Mandelsons and Milibands just that bit closer.
